Rat race…

Last night Corli and Tjaart came over for supper. We made pasta and had a glass of wine while the guys were playing Wii Resort.

This week is probably one of the most hectic ones this year. Frans and I are going to buy his grandmother and cousins birthday prezzies today; it is his grandmothers 80th birthday tomorrow. Tonight I am going for coffee, Frans has to go for a hair cut, and tomorrow night we have our year end dinner and its karate. Friday night it is a braai with the friends, Saturday is my cousins baby shower at two, our friends engagement party Austin Power style… and Sunday we have our Christmas breakfast with friends and Sunday afternoon Frans’s grandmothers 80th Birthday lunch

And then… I hope that we can just relax a bit. O yes! We got a new addition to the Dreyer side of the family yesterday. His name is Daxie and he is so cute. I will take some pictures over the weekend and post them.

We need to talk less and sleep more lol

I can not remember the last time Frans and I went to bed so late. 

This morning we were laughing at each other with our puffy eyes.  When he woke me up this morning I couldn’t believe it as it felt as we JUST went to bed!  O well, I think we should go and have lunch today so that we can finish our chat! LOL 

I am going to get a coffee now… maybe a Americano! J

 

A bit of everything over the last two days

So, I have some news…  our estate agent phoned us today to say the people that came to see our house on Monday night made an offer on our house.  To make a long story short, after more than an hour of negotiating and the agents going home without an answer as Frans and I wanted to talk about everything first… we have decided to accept the offer.

I just phoned well, the agents to say when and where we can sign tomorrow, Frans’s parents and my parents.  I am so excited that I want to SCREAM!!!  but I know I shouldn’t be just yet.  We also had a look at a house in the area that we want to buy and it is awesome!  We are putting in an offer tomorrow.  I really hope that all will work out but like my dad said it’s gotta work out.  That somehow made me feel like everything will work out.

My mom and dad are on holiday with my almost 16 year old “baby” brother and I miss them.  I haven’t seen them since Thursday and it really feels weird not knowing that they are a two minute drive away from saying hi, drinking a cup of coffee and just to tell them about my day… I know it sounds weird but all of us speak every day and we see each other just about 4 times a week if not more lol

Wian is just about potty trained.  I am so proud of him, he just decided last week that he doesn’t like his nappies anymore.  I have to find an evening dress for “a night at the Oscars” for the JSE year end function.  I have some ideas of  what I would like to wear and what to do with my hair but were am I going to find that dress, the dress… the dress that I am going to be happy with… The theme is come as your favorite celebrity…

Me time

I know that this might sound like a very selfish topic but I am sitting here with a mouth full of choc fudge cake!!  and pineapple Tropika.  Don’t get me wrong I love my family and friends but when do we ever just take time out.  When last did you just have a long bubble bath with a good book?  I have once again realized that no matter how much I love my four men I need girly time and on a day like today I actually crave it… yes it’s that bad and it doesn’t really help when you are standing in a Fruit and Veg and you see a man scratching in a place that only monkeys really do…

I mean what is up with that???

Today I feel like I don’t want to be the peacemaker… just for a day.  I think for Frans its easy cause it’s either yes or no but for me it’s not… and with me well… I always try to keep everyone happy.  Even with the rest of the family, I can not help but laugh that people will be family for more than twenty years and still not be happy with one another.  What a waste of time and energy.  Don’t they know that having a place to go is a home, but having someone to love is a family?

So for one day…

1.  I don’t want to explain anything really… like why I do my nails every month and not rather invest…

2.  I don’t want to hear any politics

3.  I don’t want to feel like I need to always make everything right

4.  I don’t want to hear that, that second cup of coffee is not good for me

5.  I don’t want to think about anything negative

6.  I don’t want to see any man scratch his nuts…

7.  I don’t want to explain why I don’t really put allot of makeup on my face

8.  I don’t want to ask the taxi driver in traffic wtf he’s doing

Actually I know what will make me feel a bit better… Jenty we need to go to woollies and this time I am buying that purple top and those fridge magnets!! lol

Chatter

We visited Fran’s dad after work and he looks ok.  While we were there his doctor came to see him and he said that the x-rays didn’t show all the damage as it looked when he opened his arm up.  Yes it was worse than we thought but I am sure he will be ok.  He can feel and move his fingers which are great news.  I just felt sorry for him to hear that he is only getting his stitches on Monday because of the bad swelling they couldn’t give him stitches.  So on Monday he we hear when he can finally go home.  On our way home we heard crying in the back of the car and when I turned around Gerhard was sobbing. When we asked him what was wrong he just said … “my oupa” and then Frans start crying cause he wanted to sleep over so that grandma is not alone and then Wian started crying for his tietie!  I didn’t take a pic of the hand… I just couldn’t, there were so many people in pain.  It is closed and wrapped up anyway.

I said to the guys at the desk at work that I will bake them a coffee cake, which is now busy cooling.  Why did I say that… lol.  I hope they are going to like it, we will have to wait and see.  You see, I said to them that Afrikaans girls can bake anything… so ja

Tomorrow is Friday and I have a date, Frans asked me in the week if I have a free afternoon, cause he wants to take me out for lunch.  He said to Tivoli and that their trees are starting to sprout leaves and that it is beautiful.  Cute hey!  I am looking forward to tomorrow.  Hope everyone has an awesome weekend!
