Frans and Gerhard’s first day at school pictures
January 14, 2010
Frans and Gerhard’s 1st day at school
January 14, 2010I have been thinking about the boys first day at school for a while now, I made sure that I bought everything they needed well in advance – Knowing January is always a very long month.
On Tuesday I was fine, I was very much excited for them and looking forward to a day off with them after school and the thought even crossed my mind that I was not going to cry… Boy o boy was I wrong, as I felt like crying when we walked into the school yard. We said our good byes before we got to their class and there and then I had to look up in a pursuit to try and stop myself from crying.
We met their teacher and as we left I started crying. My mom and I were talking about this yesterday. I think it was an emotional and happy day at the same time yesterday as I was thinking that it feels like yesterday that they were born prem and spent weeks in ICU. My tears were grateful though, grateful for looking at them and seeing how far they have come and just how big they are! Anyway, they are very happy and couldn’t wait to put their school clothes on this morning.
I will post the pictures tonight

Boys will be boys
October 8, 2009I think everyone that reads my blog or that know us knows that our boys are very busy and always up to something. I haven’t blogged about this before but I must tell you about the tree house incident…
I actually don’t know what they did but somehow the one fell on top of the other one after he hit the dog kennel… At that point we have gone through a few incidents so I thought well maybe I should include them in my scrapbooking…
Anyway so off we went to the Hospital, got their and we waited for some time… then they gave Fransie something to relax him for when they do the stitches… well, well … o well

A just to happy boy...
Whatever they gave him made him bonkers!!! He was laughing, jumping up and down on the bed… Anyway… never a dull moment I suppose…

Boys will be boys

Family Camp Weekend
September 27, 2009
Ansi
We went camping this weekend at a reserve in Rustenburg with Frans’s moms family “the van Wyks”. It was great to see everyone again and what is better than sitting around a camp fire at night with a sky full of stars.

Our view from the camp site

My cuties for the week
September 17, 2009I have decided to post 4 cute pics every week, pics of anyone or anything… and the time it was taken doesn’t matter. Here is my4 for this week:

Frans and Gerhard's spidy phase

Twister on the farm, if we can do it... they could do it

Wian to tiny for a baby bath or basin...

Birthday lunch with sweet friends, three years ago... I think

Baking cup cakes
September 17, 2009Baking cup cakes in our house is not just a matter of mix all the ingredients, put them in the oven and take them out in about half an hour… o no, it begins with me suggesting that we should bake something as we haven’t baked something together for a while. So then the twins are soo over excited that they run to the box of either spider man, barney and even barbie, argue over who’s going to do what and by default the box always gets torn apart. Which I have decided to rather think of it as the beginning of a good start..
When its time to brake the eggs, they have a much quicker technique of braking an egg they just squash it. Then it’s my turn to take all the shells out. Paper Rock Scissors for who is going to handle the mixer or Olka Bolka… and a best out of three lol
So this is where the fun part starts, getting the mixture into the paper cups, first Olka Bolka… who’s turn is it going to be, by which I suggest why don’t you guys just do it together…
and then we wait… this pic was taken a while ago but it is the cutest one

"we don't want to go to bed... can we sit here and wait" they said

Primary School :)
August 27, 2009We decided on a primary school for the boys. I think the day I went to the school to collect the applications forms for next year was maybe just not the right time to be there. I was so upset seeing that Grade 1 teacher scream at the children… but what made it worse for me was that I was booked off with flu so I was not feeling very well to start off with. Frans always says take your decision and make a list of all the positives and the negatives and I did just that. I thought about it for two days!! For me it is a big decision as I believe a Grade 1 teacher can make or break a child. We took the boys to Jenna’s bday party that Saturday and I spoke to her mom about it, she said that one of her girls is with the new teacher at the school and she is happy with her. She is firm but you can see she loves the children she said. So Monday came and I said to Frans I want to see what she looks like. He so didn’t understand it, but I am sure all you woman just have to take one look at another woman and know what her personality must be like. I handed the forms in and they said I could meet the teacher and we did. She looks very nice and I feel more at ease now. The admin ladies made a note on their applications forms that they should go to teacher V next year. I am so glad that is sorted out.
