While the boys were playing outside when we got home I was standing by our front door just looking at all our green leaves from the different trees in our garden just softly blowing in the wind. There is nothing nicer than relaxing on the grass, looking through the leaves and feeling the sun on my face. I love that! Even by just looking at the clouds floating by… I have known Frans for 10 years and his mom always used to say that winter depresses her, that she needs the sunlight and this winter was a long one for me as well.
I think the thing that makes me tired about it is that we leave the house in the dark and come home in the dark. Not that it is that bad but still I also need the sunlight! So here are my top 10 reasons for LOVING summer:
1. Being woken up by the birds in our garden
2. Playing with the boys in our front yard and eating ice cream
3. Swimming in the rock pool on the farm
4. Swimming under the house on the farm lol
5. My skirts
6. The sunlight and light breezes
7. Painting… I never really paint in winter
8. Seeing the boys in short shorts… it just looks like summer!!
9. Walking barefoot
10. Ice teas, cold salads and lots of water… I tend not to drink as much water during winter
I took a look at my closet over the weekend and I don’t really have summer clothes. Frans wouldn’t agree with that statement but the thing is… I like things to match and not just my clothes but a girl needs earrings, bracelets, handbags and maybe a few beads. Don’t forget flip flops, pumps, cute jeans and lots and lots of skirts…
Since the weekend and so far during this week I have started to empty my closet and guess what I have never really let go of certain items… I even have tops from my metric year! So it was hard but I chucked them. Don’t really think I will ever jump into a size 6 any time soon lol…
Today was a great day, I got good news, my cousin found out she is going to have a baby girl. The first baby girl in a very long time. I am very happy for her and VERY excited to buy PINK stuff!! and then of course me realizing summer is finally here
